Gripping Loneliness

There will be times where you are just gripped with loneliness. And you will feel like you are completely, utterly alone in whatever you are facing. Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's may call it the 'mean reds'. Suddenly you're scared, but you don't know what you're scared of.

It's different from the blues. The blues just means you're sad, that's all. This feeling is different- it's overwhelming, and you can't put a finger on what makes it so overwhelming.

Most people just ignore it, or quickly find something to distract themselves from this gripping feeling. When you've got nothing to distract yourself from it, though, it becomes a problem.

Sometimes writing in a diary helps, too. Putting things into writing is cathartic; it's like you are churning out something out of your body and into your writing.

The gripping loneliness is never right- there is always someone out there who cares, even if it feels like there is absolutely, utterly no one. Have faith.
